Moscow is concerned about the escalation of tensions in the Gaza Strip, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at Thursday's briefing.

Israeli authorities said on Tuesday it has opened an investigation into the killing of a Palestinian medical volunteer along the Gaza border in June.

Protests would still go ahead, he said, but demonstrators would be encouraged not to approach the fence too closely, burn tyres or send balloons equipped with incendiary devices across the border.

According to the spokesman, they were burning tyres as well as hurling rocks and explosive devices toward soldiers and at the fence between Israel and the blockaded Palestinian enclave.

The Egyptian-brokered ceasefire deal comes as Israel moves to increase the fishing zone off the coast of the Gaza Strip as well as facilitate the transfer of funds from Qatar for Hamas salaries.

Recent weeks have seen efforts by the United Nations and Egypt result in Qatari-funded fuel deliveries for Gaza, easing a severe electricity shortage.

Some 80 Palestinian protesters were injured, on Monday, during the 14th naval march at the northern borders of the besieged Gaza Strip.

The violence came to an end after Islamic Jihad, the Palestinian militant group that launched the rockets, said it had agreed to an Egyptian-brokered truce.

According to the palestinian Centre for Human rights, they were between the ages of 14 to 15 years. On the harder question [of whether] Hamas [should] "stop calling for Israel's destruction, and instead accept a permanent two-state solution based on the 1967 borders", one poll shows Gazans say yes by a margin of 53 to 45 percent; the other poll yields a slightly narrower margin of 48 to 44 percent.

One explosive charge landed under a security vehicle in an Israeli community in the Shaar Hanegev region and exploded, setting the auto on fire.

For the last seven months, Palestinians in Gaza have been staging regular demonstrations along the Gaza-Israel buffer zone to demand the right to return to their homes in historical Palestine from which they were driven in 1948.
