Emergency hearing in Rick Scott vs. Broward County lawsuit

Marco Rubio: Democrats Are Trying to Steal Florida Senate Race by Counting All the Votes US midterm elections: Florida faces prospect of recounts in Senate and Governor's races
Ray Hunter | 10 November, 2018, 07:44

"This morning, Bill Nelson is introducing the people of Florida to Marc Elias, a hired gun from Washington, D.C. who will try to win an election for Nelson that Nelson has already lost", Scott's campaign said in a news release Thursday morning.

The still-undecided races will not tip the balance in either chamber of Congress, but include contests in parts of the country important to the futures of both parties and potentially to President Donald Trump's re-election chances in two years. "Law Enforcement is looking into another big corruption scandal having to do with Election Fraud in #Broward and Palm Beach. Florida voted for Rick Scott!". Mr. Trump wrote, referring also to Palm Beach County, which has also been slow in its vote-counting process.

Nelson filed his own federal lawsuit Friday, seeking to postpone the Saturday deadline to submit unofficial election results.

By law, any race with a lead of 0.5 percent or less triggers a mandatory machine recount.

The Scott campaign lashed out at the suit.

Circuit Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips also held that Brenda Snipes, Broward's supervisor of elections, was in violation of Florida public records laws for not turning the records requested by Scott's campaign. However, in the days after the election, votes that continued to file in tightened the race further, leading to the possibility of a state-mandated recount more likely.

Meanwhile, in the Arizona Senate race, Democrat Kyrsten Sinema has pulled ahead of Republican Martha McSally by about 10,000 votes.

Kardashian, 38, posted pictures and video of the fire to her Instagram story from her private plane, People reported . Los Angeles Fire Department Public Information Officer Erik Scott said the blaze destroyed or damaged many buildings.

"The governor has chose to abandon the most fundamental of all rights because he fears that he will lose the election if all the votes are counted", Nelson said.

"Even more alarmingly", Scott claims, Bucher "failed to allow the Palm Beach County Canvassing Board" to determine, as required by law, which damaged or improperly filled-out absentee ballots were valid and how the voters of those ballots had meant to vote. New York Times reporter Patricia Mazzei captured video of protesters chanting "lock her up" about Snipes before the meeting in Broward. Cameras showed protesters standing next to the law enforcers as some chanted "Lock her up!"

According to a Miami Herald reporter, there were also multiple people who attempted to vote twice in close-by Miami-Dade County. He accused Republicans of falsely claiming voter fraud simply because the margin had changed. On Thursday, he tweeted that he was sending lawyers to "expose the FRAUD!"

"They just now find the votes in Florida and Georgia while the elections were on Tuesday?"

The fact that there will be multiple high-profile recounts in Florida gives many political watchers deja vu, given the impact that the state's recount played on the 2000 presidential election that saw President George W. Bush elected after winning Florida by 537 votes. "Let's blame the Russians and demand and immediate apology from President Putin!" he tweeted.

A 2012 report by the Center for New American Security found that negative stereotypes about combat veterans can become a detriment to their ability to gain employment after military service. The additional votes for Nelson came from overseas and provisional ballots, Griffin said. "Every Floridian should be concerned there may be rampant fraud happening in Palm Beach and Broward counties".

Terri Parker of WPBF reported that lawyers for Scott told Marx on Friday that Bucher's staff was duplicating damaged ballots without the required witnesses present.
