The Seattle Seahawks are only a number of days away from kicking off their 2018 National Football League season schedule, but there have been no sightings yet of safety Earl Thomas, who is still on a holdout. Thomas' reaction to the lack of a resolution was clear in his post: "The disrespect has been noted and will not be forgotten".

"Within the past week, Dallas upped its offer to the Seahawks for Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas to a second-round pick, per sources", Schefter tweeted Wednesday morning.

"They believe the closer Seattle gets to the trading deadline with a disgruntled star who won't be back next season, the more conciliatory the Seahawks will become in their demands". He urged that the team either pay him or trade him to a team willing to commit to him long-term.

For months, Thomas lived in a world where workout videos posted to his Instagram account - where he announced the end of his holdout - served as practice footage.

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport said Wednesday that Thomas will play out the final year of his deal in Seattle and that the Seahawks agreed to wipe out nearly all of his fines for not showing up to training camp.

That has led to a stalemate that has had Seattle entertaining trade offers for Thomas since last spring.

By reporting, Thomas won't miss any game checks - $500,000 per game - and he shores up a defence that saw many of its more prominent players depart in the off-season for a variety of reasons. Seattle wasn't interested; it wants more.

With Thomas out, Seattle has used Tedric Thompson as its primary free safety.

Thomas has since reported to the Seahawks, but he still doesn't appear to be thrilled with his situation.
