'Don't touch me,' Senator Rubio tells conspiracy theorist Jones

Marco Rubio Calls Alex Jones a Clown: ‘Don’t Touch Me Again!’ Marco Rubio calls Alex Jones a 'clown' during heated exchange on Capitol Hill

While Rubio was talking, Jones approached him and accused him of ignoring the plight of his website after its page got deleted from several major social media platforms because it alleged, among other things, that the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting was a "hoax".

Jones had about 900,000 followers on Twitter and Infowars had about 430,000.

After further pressuring, the firm suspended Jones from Twitter for a week in August.

Last month, Twitter gave Jones a small punishment for his inflammatory behavior on the platform-a one-week suspension that prevented Jones from tweeting or retweeting from his personal account.

Darcy has aggressively questioned social media companies about the forbearance they showed Jones, asking why they have allowed him to remain on their platforms for as long as they have. Previous violations also contributed to the decision to ban both accounts.

At one point he badgered Rubio as the Republican answered reporters' questions in a hallway.

LA prosecutors decline Kevin Spacey sexual assault case
They say any alleged sex crime involving an adult that occurred in 1992 would fall outside of California's statute of limitations. Prosecutors have also decided not to file charges against actors Steven Seagal and Anthony Anderson over alleged sex crimes.

On Wednesday, before confronting Rubio, Jones held a freewheeling gaggle with reporters outside the Senate hearing room where Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey were set to testify.

Jones is now being sued in Texas by two Sandy Hook parents, seeking at least $1 million (£0.77 million), claiming that they have been the subject of harassment driven by his programs.

Darcy claimed that none of those statements by Jones were true. "Glad Twitter is taking steps to put an end to the abusive behavior from Alex Jones & Infowars", the tweet stated.

The exchange became heated once Jones touched Rubio's shoulder, which prompted Rubio to say, 'Hey, don't touch me again, man'. He criticized the journalist's reporting and appearance, referencing his "skinny jeans" and repeatedly saying, "just look at this guy's eyes" and "look at that smile".

But a week later Twitter joined the other tech companies in muzzling Jones, even if it was only for a week.

"You're not gonna get arrested", Rubio said. Of course, this also comes after Jones crashed Dorsey's visit to Congress, accusing him and other tech leaders of being biased against conservatives.
