YouTube begins rolling out Dark Theme setting for its Android app

YouTube for Android gets dark theme YouTube dark theme now available for some on Android

YouTube has rolled out the so-called dark theme for some Android users, following announcements of the feature being added to the iOS version in March this year and the desktop version in 2017.

The dark theme will thoroughly darken your YouTube, which in my opinion is far easier on the eyes than making the background a pure black.

YouTube dark mode has been available for iOS and desktop users now for a while.

If you do not want to make use of the new feature, there is an option to turn it off and remove the prompt. Roku and Android TV both have their apps set to a dark theme by default.

Channels still retain their colorful app bars, while the biggest impact of the dark theme is on the video page - where the video player is black before it fully loads. The new update brings the much-awaited dark mode for Android users.

Turkish Lira Falls to Record Low After U.S. Sanctions
Anticipation of the US sanctions had already helped to send the Turkish lira to an all-time low against the dollar on Wednesday. Turkey vowed to retaliate against the sanctions . "We will get it", Soylu wrote on his official Twitter account.

Google is rolling out a dark theme for YouTube on Android, 9to5Google reported.

This change also comes as YouTube rolls out an adaptive video player that expands to fit your screen. For more details on dark mode, check out our guide.

However, the roll out for the new feature is not universal, meaning not all devices can now take advantage of it. You'll certainly know when the dark theme is available on your device since YouTube automatically applies it when you open the app.

The feature is must-have to surf in the low light conditions or during the night time, as it saves the eyes from unwanted exposure of white light. Apart from that, a dark theme also helps conserve battery on smartphones, especially the ones that have OLED displays.

Google regularly updates its video streaming service.
