Roseanne Barr sits down for an interview on "Hannity" after being fired from the "Roseanne" reboot.

Actress-comedian Roseanne Barr says her racist tweet "cost her everything" and she wishes she had worded it "better".

During her hour-long interview on Sean Hannity's Fox News Channel show Thursday, Barr lamented the damage done to her by her tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former adviser to President Barack Obama. "I've apologized a lot".

Watch the interview with Sean Hannity below. "I feel that I have apologized and explained and asked for forgiveness and made recompense", Barr said on Thursday, adding that she has made donations to "several African-American things".

"Valerie, let's discuss this", Barr said later, looking at the camera. "I never meant to hurt anybody, or say anything negative about an entire race of people". "What God puts before me I do", she said.

She added that her contract with ABC protected her from any mistakes she were to possibly make.

Barr again said that she was stunned when ABC first contacted her about the tweet.

"I'm sorry that anyone thought that was a racist and not a political tweet because it was, in fact, a political tweet and not a racist tweet whatsoever", she told Boteach.

Barr told Hannity was "shocked" at the backlash, and claimed she didn't realize that Jarrett was black ― a point she also made in a bonkers video shared online last week.

Trump says it's 'sad' Cohen recorded him
Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani has said the proposed payment was a personal matter and not subject to campaign finance law. Cohen was proposing to pay AMI, which owns the National Enquirer newspaper, for the rights to McDougal's story.

This is a developing story.

She has since apologized for the tweet but continues to protest the decision.

Barr paused. "Well, we can't talk about that", she said.

Barr also repeated previous explanations for her tweet, including that she was under the influence of the sleeping pill Ambien, had drunk two beers and was taking anti-depressants on the night she posted the message.

In June, ABC announced The Conners, a revival to replace Roseanne minus the creative and financial input of Barr. And I'm sorry for the misunderstanding that caused my ill-worded tweet, and I'm sorry that you feel harmed and hurt.

"How would you like it to be sitting in a room with 25 people who think Trump is the worst thing that's ever happened to the United States", she said of her time on ABC's Roseanne redux.

Barr told Hannity she felt she was "fighting the right by being really left", referring to her 2012 run for the presidency as a socialist candidate. The original cast, including John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert, returned.

"That was what I brought to television and what kicked everybody's a** in the ratings", she continued.
