Newcastle agree on $12.5 mil. deal with Muto

This past season, his third with Mainz in Germany's top league, Muto scored eight goals in 27 games.

Newcastle United have agreed to sign Japan striker Yoshinori Muto from Mainz for 9.5 million pounds (about $12.5 million), British media reported Thursday.

Newcastle also look set to lose forward Aleksandar Mitrovic in the coming days as he nears a permanent move to Fulham.

Instead, Newcastle United opted to bring on Adam Armstrong for Joselu half-way through the second half.
