PM Modi, India's Prime Minister will today inaugurated World's largest smartphone factory in Noida.

Samsung just opened the world's largest mobile phone factory in India on the outskirts of Delhi.

The Noida factory, which was set up in 1996, is one of the first global electronics manufacturing facilities set up in India.

As Samsung can manufacture its full range of phones at this one facility, the company can react to the local market with the population now preferring phones costing below $250 due to levels of income. The new facility is spread over 35 acres in Noida's Sector 81.

Samsung India chief executive officer HC Hong said that the Noida factory, the world's largest mobile factory, is a symbol of Samsung's strong commitment to India.

Ahead of the visit, a spokesperson in Moon's office in Seoul had said that the leaders will focus on expanding "future-oriented cooperation" between the two countries. "Apart from this, the company can also bring in export opportunity for Samsung to SAARC and other regions", Pathak told IANS.

Samsung is being viewed as perfectly positioned now to take full advantage of India's rapidly growing demand for smartphones.

"As you may well know, the Moon Jae-in government is building a cooperative relationship with India and Asean, which are thought to be the next China, while upgrading the country's relationship with India and Asean countries to the level of its ties with the four super powers", Mr Kim said, according to Yonhap.

"Samsung is a world leader in technology today".

Trade minister Suresh Prabhu invited Korean investment in areas such as manufacturing, services, agriculture and food processing, stating that India was looking at setting up a special economic zone for Korean companies alone. "This will [also] help the ecosystem and auxiliary industries grow as they will have demand to be met", he added.
