They finished the FIFA World Cup 2018 Qualifiers unbeaten and Daei is expecting the form to be carried into the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, with Iran lifting the trophy.

With captain Sunil Chetri on stage as part of the draw, India found themselves in Group A of the Asian Cup to be played in United Arab Emirates from January 5 next.

The tough draw came two days after the Azkals were placed in Group B of the AFF Suzuki Cup alongside defending champion Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and victor of the qualification round playoff between Timor Leste and Brunei.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar - who are now locked in a major diplomatic dispute - have been drawn in Group E with Lebanon and North Korea.

The Philippines, making its debut in a tournament that has expanded from 16 teams in 2015 to 24, drew powerhouse South Korea, China and Kyrgyzstan. India's opening match is against Thailand as UAE and Bahrain will face each other in the tournament opener.

The finals will kick off on January 5 with the final to be played in Abu Dhabi on February 1.

"I was part of the national team in 2011 in Doha last time when we played in the Continental Championship".

This will be India's fourth appearance in the Asian Cup. This time also it's hard but like I said we still have a chance.
