Orrego-Savala didn't stop, but police caught up with him and arrested him shortly after the fatal crash.

The wife of an Uber driver who died after and an Indianapolis Colts player were hit by an alleged drunk driver on an IN interstate Sunday is speaking out about her husband's death.

Manuel Orrego-Savala, 37, is accused of driving under the influence and causing a crash that killed 26-year-old Indiana Colts player Jackson and his Uber driver on Sunday morning on an Indiana highway.

Police also said that Orrego-Savala was at almost three times the legal blood-alcohol content limit, which is 0.08 percent in Indiana.

As we've previously reported, officials say Orrego-Savala is from Guatemala and illegally entered the country multiple times over the years.

Orrego-Savala was arrested following the crash early Sunday along Interstate 70 in Indianapolis.

Orrego-Savala's only responses in court were answering through an interpreter as the judge explained the proceedings and charges.

Indiana State Police said Monday they are working with the prosecutor's office to file criminal charges in Orrego-Savala's case.

Orrego-Savala has a previous conviction from 2005, when he pleaded no contest to allegations of two separate instances of driving while drunk. He faces up to 10 years in prison on that charge, which the USA attorney's office said would be handled after any state charges are resolved. The 26-year-old Jackson and 54-year-old Jeffrey Monroe were struck as they stood outside Monroe's auto along Interstate 70 in Indianapolis. They say he was walking away when they caught him.

At the time of his most recent arrest, in Indianapolis on Sunday, Orrego-Zavala provided a false name to authorities - Alex G. Cabrera - though authorities soon uncovered his real name.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday sought to use the death of a National Football League player in a vehicle crash - which police say was caused by an undocumented migrant - to bolster his campaign to tighten border security.

"This was a completely preventable tragedy", he told Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

"The family is in shock, as you can imagine". Monroe was believed to have stepped out of the auto to help Jackson, police said.
