The accident took place around 55 km from Chittorgarh on the Kota-Chittor highway.

She is reported to have received minor injuries.

In November 2015, Jashodaben had applied for a passport to take a trip overseas, but was denied one as she did not produce her marriage certificate or a joint affidavit with Modi.

As per details by the doctors, her condition was stable and out of danger. Jayendra, the driver, also sustained injuries, officials told NDTV. Rash driving, speeding, overloading and not following traffic rules are some of the major causes of accidents in India. The family was travelling from Atru in Baran to a place called Unjha in Gujarat. The Police, however, is investigating the matter.
