Kohli, who was to meet India U-19 skipper Prithvi Shaw and the boys before the Rahul Dravid-coached side leave overseas, said he was excited about the Mumbai youngster.

Kohli, who had missed India's ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka due to his much-celebrated wedding with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, will return to lead the team as skipper for the South Africa tour.

"You need to play really good cricket for a very long period of time to win series and that is something that we are pretty excited about and we want to go out there and express ourselves".

"These boys have been on on the road together for the last 4-5 years - the same team". "We have done well in Australia and England. Tours of South Africa, England and Australia coming up in the next one and a half years will help make this a better cricket team". Ahead of the Indian team's departure, Shastri urged the side to embrace the challenges awaiting them in South Africa. "So, preparation has been good", Shastri added.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been a vital cog for India in the Test team and talking about his different variations which at times can also be an odd leg-spinner, Kohli said, "He (Ashwin) is an ever-improving cricketer and it is his own idea to try this". "Many of us have played First Class and List A", said Shaw.

Any place, even Indian conditions can be very hard if you are not in a good frame of mind, so cricket is played with ball and bat and if you are not there mentally, it does not matter the conditions you are playing in.

"Cricket is played with bat and ball". Conditions don't matter. I have no doubt in the ability of the team. "We are on the right track".

"We need to be realistic with what we are doing and that the only way we will be staying in the present and execute the things we want to".

He added, "I was away for something much more important".

Mark Hamill took to Twitter to pay tribute to Alfie Curtis and remembered him as "funny and kind". "Rest in peace, Dr. Trinian's . 'As horrific as he was on-camera, off-camera he was amusing , kind & a real gentleman.

South Africa will be more than a challenge for the Indian team and Kohli is well aware of that fact.

"The hunger this time is the same".

Yet captain Kohli, fresh after being rested for the limited-overs successes against Sri Lanka, claims India will not feel the pressure to perform overseas.

India have played 17 tests against the Proteas in South Africa, winning two and losing on eight occasions.

Kohli said that it was not hard for him to switch back to cricket after his marriage as the sport lies in his blood.

"Cricket is in my blood".

"We have many days to get used to conditions there".

"We have got rid of all the mental pressures of touring overseas and wanting to prove to people".
